As I hung this flag in my dining room I couldn’t help but get sentimental. She flew proud on the mast of a Bering Sea crab boat.
This tattered fabric is emblematic of not only a great nation, but a creative endeavor 13 seasons in the making. A deceptively simple series that pulled back the curtain on a little known world, and has since crafted a soulful tale of epic proportions under the banner: Deadliest Catch.
This flag’s stains and tears serve as a reminder of battles hard fought. Stories of life lived and lost, families made, and futures taken. Hurricane force winds and a sea state that quite honestly, as talented as the camera operators and edit teams on this show are, will never be accurately represented. To me they mean fear as I never felt before – a sense of wonder I didn’t know existed – and most importantly that hard work and perseverance will not be stopped.
On Catch I have had the honor of making friends and crafting stories with some of the strongest creatives in the entertainment industry. Allied those in pursuit of truth and emotion. Forged relationships that have lasted years – creating bonds I know will withstand the test of time.
This tale of brave men and women we put before you once again.

And while I will never be able to truly impart what the show means to me, I hope a little history, and dare I say context, will get you to tune in and be part of the…saga.
